Fall is coming...

The leaves are changing and it's actually quite pretty here in Saskatoon! Especially by the river.
I drive over a bridge to work every day and each day I say I am going to go down there and take some photos!
It hasn't happened yet, but when it does this will be the first place they will be seen. Promise.

We are officially Saskatoon residents!
And there were only 2 draw backs, 2 expensive draw backs may I add. A new windshield and something on the drivers side to do with our brakes(I'm not a mechanic okay!). But look how clear that windshield is! Well worth it, I suppose.

And I guess I won't lie, I'm not a resident. I don't quite have my Saskatchewan license yet. Workin' on it. But in my eyes just living here should count!
But I do think Storm applied for both him and I for Saskatchewan health care #'s.
How that works without me being a resident, I do not know!
His main reason:
it allows him to hunt..

I can't see the future, but I'm hoping it doesn't include animal heads on my walls.. in this house at least!

Did a little thrift shopping over the week!
I may become an addict.

These right here, total of $10.00. I'm kicking myself I didn't get the other pictures that went with this one!
Storm even came with me my second time around.
I'm not sure if he enjoyed it though, he was preoccupied with the "homeless" people, as he called them, walking around the store.

I hope everyone had a fun weekend!
 We just lazed about mostly.
Friday evening we went to Madagascar 3; and loved every minute of it. If you haven't gone, it's a must!

Storm went paint-balling Saturday morning, came home with some pretty good welts!

I enjoyed an afternoon of finding a library and a bookstore!
My home away from home.
I'm starting this book
I'll let you know how it is.

PS. Thanksgiving next weekend!!!
Going home to visit family, eat yummy food, and enjoy General Conference:) This may add to why I love Fall.

Have a good rest of the weekend!

Sunday 16 September 2012

as promised.

So like I said I would I'll share a snippet of our first experience with sewage back up!

I don't even think we were in our place for 3 days and our sewer BACKED UP.
I went to go check the laundry around 10pm and found water all over the floor, including the furnace room! At first I thought it was just water, but to my horror it was not (and I will leave it at that, no further description needed).

Between a trip to walmart (because it was the only place open that late!), a lot of mops&buckets, storm's hunting boots (no gum boots available), phoning the City of Saskatoon in the next morning; having them come to only find out they couldn't fix it, and then having to get a plumber to come later that day our welcome to our new home experience was taken care of. And some how I managed to not have an anxiety attack...
Thankfully Storm had some friends over playing PS3, so I didn't have to do any of the dirty work.

Now that we're all recovered, we are living it up here in Saskatoon!!.. sort of.

This is how we spend our Friday evenings
chocolate fondue!! home warming gift from mommy dear:) These Velata warmers are the easiest and cleanest version of  a chocolate fondue I've ever seen!
Does he ever smile in a picture; no. Does he always make faces; yes.

Brilliantly Oshi thought of dipping almonds. genious!

I did.. I gave in and we moved it upstairs. It's a sore to my eye, but can slightly be forgiven for it's ultimate sitting space and comfortableness.
One day we'll get a cover.

But for now we're just easing into this Saskatoon lifestyle so many others are living.
The temperature is starting to drop, meaning Fall is coming and you know what that means!

A homemade hummus always fits in there somewhere as well.
I made this one the other day and it's winner.

New beginning

I've had this blog created for a couple days now, but I've changed it so many times not being satisfied with the way it's setup or how it looks! I settled with the warm colors and leaves because it's almost fall. And I LOVE fall! Because of course my favorite holiday falls in the this season:)
To get back on topic, I created this blog because.... We moved to SASKATOON! 7 hrs away from home and family. And though I know we can communicate and share events through facebook, instagram, twitter(which I DO NOT use), and so many more things! I've always loved the blogging way of sharing peoples lives, stories, passions, hobbies, and really whatever it is that person wants to share!  For years I've been following peoples blogs, but have never had the courage to start my own. I didn't know how!

So people, I'm winging it.
Any advice on how to mechanically work these blogs is greatly appreciated.

September 2, 2012 Storm and I officially left our hometown Raymond Alberta and set out for Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

There was a lot more stuff than what is shown! That was just our last load of 2 or 3.
And on that note when we got there and I had to start unpacking I told Storm.. We are NEVER EVER moving again.
Teleporting better be invented when that time comes again.

Our new place.
Super excited about the private and somewhat spacious backyard:)
Right now I have a hard time looking at it because we have left over boxes sitting on the patio...
You'll find out I'm a neat freak.
It's a curse.. not a gift(which was inherited.. thank. you. mother.)

Bedroom.
Kitchen.
Upstairs living area.

We do have a full house.. soo blessed... but I didn't take pictures of the downstairs because once again I can hardly look at it. AND because the most comfy, but UGLIEST couch is down there! Storm is begging me to bring it up stairs because it is bigger than our brown leather love seat and much more comfortable. (and because he wants to lay on it and play PS3... love/hate relationship with that machine..plays blue-ray DVDs, but steals my husbands mind body and soul it seems somedays.)

I just can't do it.
At least not until we get a cover or SOMETHING for it.

These 2 started their first day of school last week! Storm is THRILLED.
Did I mention Oshi, Storm's sister, is living with us!?
Party house we are!
okay, so not quite.. so far we sit every night on our technological devices and watch tv.
We did attend the Canadian Country Music Awards this weekend though!! point for us!!

Carolyn Dawn Johnson got the first award of the night!

 Terri clark performed!

Jason Aldean performed!
